Posts like THIS. He is upset that someone has apparently dipped into his "knowledge" bank and taken a little something without acknowledgement. And now he is upset. So he wants to rant. But wait a minute, this is just one more high-profile blogger with a pretty dark secret of his own...
You see, he only believes in one-way communication. He believes in saying what he wants, how he wants, when he wants. He doesn't believe that he has any obligation to dialog with his *ALL* readers. He doesn't have any responsibility to entertain opposing or even divergent points of view.
And worse, he doesn't have to explain ANYTHING. He doesn't have to defend his thoughts and beliefs, nor does he have to provide any context for his WORK-DEFINED points of view.
How does he get away with that? Why, it is the guilty secret of blogs and bloggers around the world. Many, many of the so-called "top" bloggers and sites simply IGNORE dissent and disagreement. They don't respond to e-mails, they ignore (or often delete) unwelcome comments; if they even allow them.
Sad really, here is someone who daily practices casual disrepect for others who are directly trying to dialog with him; yet he is quick to "RANT" on those he believes disrepect him.
By no means is this a limited phenomenon: There is pretty much an inverse relationship between a blogger's "cred" (not to mention their "advertising-related revenue") anbd their willingness to openly discuss topics.
